After 162 games, the Major League Baseball season has come to an end. On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, the Atlanta Braves defeated the Houston Astros, and won their first World Series title since 1995. 

​The Atlanta Braves won the World Series in a six game fight against the Houston Astros. On Sunday, October 31, 2021, the Braves suffered a tough loss, losing 9-5, breaking the spirits of some players and fans; however, the Braves pushed through, destroying the Astros 7-0, and winning four games in this six game series. Bringing their total World Series wins to four, this year’s win is the first for the Braves since 1995. The Braves previously won the World Series in 1914, 1957, and 1995. 

According to CBS Sports, Jorge Soler is the most valuable player of the 2021 World Series, only the second Cuban-born player to win this prestigious title. Soler hit a grand slam in Game Six, which allowed the Braves to get an epic win. 

​Many fans found this year’s World Series to be very exciting due to the sheer number of runs and hits in each game. With a back and forth that made it impossible to know who would come out on top, the series kept both Astros and Braves fans on their toes. Ultimately, the Braves prevailed, bringing the prestigious title back to Atlanta for the first time in 26 years to the delight of Braves fans everywhere. Only time will tell if the momentum will carry into next season!
