The answer is… Angelina Jolie! No. John Madden! Dang—it’s HQ Trivia! The app has taken the country by storm, and it’s here to stay. HQ Trivia is an app where players from the United States and the United Kingdom play live game show-esque trivia for a chance to win thousands of dollars! The app goes live at 3 pm and 9 pm EST.

The rules are simple—you have ten seconds to answer each of the twelve multiple-choice trivia questions. The initial questions are almost too easy, but as players get closer to the cash prize, the questions get more difficult. The players left standing at the end split the cash prize. So be prepared to share; sharing is caring, people. The main game show host, Scott Rogowsky, is the figurehead of the entire operation. He asks the trivia questions, adds personality to the show, and really annoys the hell out of most viewers. From time to time, guest hosts will appear, but the live chat tends to go crazy, as many players aren’t fans of new hosts. #FREESCOTT.
I decided to download HQ Trivia on my phone after one of my teachers recommended the app; I got as far as three questions before I was eliminated from the game, but I have to admit, I can see how it is addicting. The real incentive to come back isn’t necessarily the trivia but the money. Although the prize at the end isn’t always a significant amount when split among every winner, it’s still extra cash.

HQ Trivia is best played with a group of people because the more brains, the better the chances of answering the questions correctly. So, grab some friends and start testing your knowledge for a chance to win!
