Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm: Is It Worth the Price?

Chapped lips are such an inconvenience. Personally, I never go anywhere without some sort of chapstick. I have tried many different lip balms, with hopes of keeping my lips from becoming dry and chapped. Most recently, I decided to purchase the Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm from Sephora.

Drunk Elephant is my favorite skin care brand, and their products have never failed me. While the products are on the more expensive side, I always find that they are usually worth the price. Since I have never been disappointed before, I made the decision to purchase their Lippe Balm, which costs $18. Looking back, I feel as though it was not the smartest financial decision, but it is too late to go back now.
Despite the high price of the product, it actually does work very well. The balm keeps my lips extremely hydrated and leaves a glossy finish. However, the only feature that really makes the product stand out is the brand name and the packaging. You can easily find a chapstick that works just as well at a drugstore for a much cheaper price.

The product is formulated with an antioxidant-rich blend of avocado and mongongo nut oils. In addition, it has tripeptide and sea fern algae to help keep the lips hydrated and provide them with a more plump look. Drunk Elephant advertises this balm as “a buttery, luxurious balm that softens and plumps the look of rough, parched lips, and keeps them in lip-top condition.” I would agree with this statement, but the steep price of the balm may be a turn off for many.

When purchasing products from Drunk Elephant such as the facial cleanser and moisturizer, I find that the high cost is worth it since the products last for such a long time; however, the Lippe Balm is quite small, and I am not optimistic that it will last a long time.

Overall, I find the Drunk Elephant brand to be an amazing lip balm, and I do not regret purchasing it. But for the sake of my bank account, I do not think I will be purchasing it again since I can find similar products at a more affordable price point.
