Hailing from Holbrook, New York, Ms. Kelly-Ann Boeschen serves as the new family and consumer sciences teacher this year. Since taking the course herself in 7th grade, Ms. Boeschen has loved that family and consumer sciences gives kids the skills they will need to be more independent in life.
Ms. Boeschen taught in New Jersey and Vermont before coming to Oyster Bay High School. With five years of experience under her belt, she feels well-prepared to teach our student population here at OBHS.

When asked why she decided to come to Oyster Bay, Ms. Boeschen said she admired that “the location was close to family, and it’s such a small district.” She prefers smaller districts as she believes, “It's nice to really get to know the kids.” Ms. Boeschen values her relationships with her students and tries to have fun while still challenging them.

The new family and consumer sciences teacher wishes to grow the program during her tenure here. Ms. Boeschen hopes to eventually “make more electives and events to benefit the community.”

Having experience with children in grades 5-12 and coming from a family of teachers, Ms. Boeschen has had plenty of experience with kids of all ages, and, given how she wants to expand the program to include more electives, she is dedicated to engaging the students of OBHS for years to come.
We wish Ms. Boeschen a happy and successful first year at Oyster Bay!
