Michael Biggiani, 2019 Salutatorian, has solidified himself in Oyster Bay High School’s history as one of its most accomplished students.

Heading to the University of Virginia next year to pursue a career in biophysics, Michael accredits much of his success to his science teachers who have prepared him for this moment. In his words: “I want to thank Ms. Hallock, Ms. Badean, Ms. Fagan, Ms. Annicelli, and Ms. Gross as they are all excellent teachers and shaped the trajectory of my career choice. I also wanted to thank my parents for giving me the motivation to succeed.”

Despite his long list of achievements and awards, Michael has remained modest about his abilities as well as his aspirations. He hopes to become a doctor or physician to earn enough to live a comfortable lifestyle. Michael’s intellect and levelheaded approach to his goals will surely take him far in the years to come.

Of course, graduation is a pot of mixed emotions for everyone, including Michael. He says, “I had a great time at Oyster Bay. During my time here, I have made so many friends and it will be bittersweet when I move on to a whole new lifestyle at UVA.”

Michael certainly serves as a role model for many of Oyster Bay’s students. When asked what advice he would give to incoming seniors, he says, “Don’t quit now! You have worked very hard since 9th grade, and although you may be tempted into slowing down this last year, don’t. This final push is very important and you should keep up the hard work right up to the very end.”

On a personal note, the staff of The Habour Voice will especially miss Michael and his many contributions to the paper. He has served as a writer and Assistant Managing Editor. His talents have contributed to the history of the Oyster Bay community, and for that, we are grateful.

Michael Biggiani is a brilliant person with a bright future ahead of him. Oyster Bay High School wishes Michael nothing but the best in his future endeavors.
