​Located in South Florida, Delray Beach is a great destination for your family’s spring break vacation. This city has two miles of public beach, and a lively nightlife scene on East Atlantic Avenue. Delray is near many other popular cities including Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and Boynton Beach. Here are the top five things to do if you make it to Delray Beach.

1. Shopping on East Atlantic Avenue
Delray Beach is home to a variety of clothing stores, surf shops, restaurants, and more. Deck 84 is one restaurant on East Atlantic Avenue that has been named in the Top 100 Al Fresco Dining Restaurants by Opentable Diners in 2015, 2013 and 2012. Deck 84 serves casual American  cuisine. According to the Downtown Development Authority of Delray Beach, the colorful inside of the waterfront restaurant is “designed to embrace Florida’s resort lifestyle. Deck 84 is a perfect restaurant, bar and lounge for vacationers, beach goers, boaters and local residents.” Spending the day shopping and dining on East Atlantic Avenue is a great way to explore Delray.

2. The Beach!
Spend your day in Delray on one of Florida’s Top 10 Beaches, according to Travel Channel 2015 & 2016 and PolicyGenius' Best Beaches in Every State. According to the Downtown Development Authority of Delray Beach, “There are a total of two miles of public beachfront attractions that drive in approximately one million visitors each year.” At these beautiful beaches, swimming and surfing are just some of the many activities you can enjoy with your family or friends.

3. Mini Golf
Putt’n Around is a great place to visit in Delray Beach. You can spend your afternoon mini golfing in the nice weather, having a great time with your friends and family. At only $11 for 18 holes, Putt’n Around is an easy and affordable way to have fun in Delray.   

4. Bear’s Food Shack
With colorful tables, Hawaiian surf-themed decor, and giant stuffed bears outside to greet you, Delray’s Bear’s Food Shack is a perfect way to dine beach-style. Acai and Poke bowls are their specialty, along with smoothies and sandwiches. The food even has Hawaiian themed names.

5. Delray Beach Playhouse
The Playhouse is a theater in Delray that is home to various comedies, musicals, plays, and more. The shows scheduled for this Spring include “Showtune: A Celebration of the Words and Music of Jerry Herman” and “The Nightingale,” among others. After relaxing at the beach all day, dinner and a show near the water is a perfect way to end the night.
