The game everyone has been waiting for is a Rockstar Games “prequel” to their 2010 hit game, Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead Redemption II (RDRII), a game with visual and lifelike graphics, brings a beginning to the start of a wonderful story and thrilling game.
The smash-hit game, RDRII, is a camera perspective, open world led by storytelling, that is based in an era often romanticized, the Wild West. Set in 1899, the game incorporates dueling as a common way to squash problems with other characters. RDRII follows an outlaw named Arthur Morgan and his gang, “The Dutch Vander Linde”. The gang robbed a big bank and the law is looking for them. However, luck is not on their side, as they have left the money they robbed behind and now need to evade the law, all while finding ways to make money in the hopes of leaving their life of crime behind.
RDRII is very entertaining with its life-like graphics, amazing attention to detail, and awesome mechanics. The game creates an attachment to characters by providing robust backstories, and can also make you hate certain characters with a passion. There are many relatable themes played out in the game, such as loyalty, strength, betrayal, and hatred. As you finish the game, there is this feeling of emptiness, as you reach the end of this stunning and incredible game. However, playing the game again offers a new and equally exciting experience, as you discover new details that you did not find in the previous play-through.
The game has detail as well. Game makers realistically portray how characters engage in conversation, or even react to being shot. Hot and cold weather affects the characters as it would in real life, and whether or not a character has recently eaten will impact gameplay. Additionally, when looking at the sun, characters’ pupils will narrow and return to normal when looking away. The passion and care that the developers at Rockstar Games put into RDRII is unreal, and you can feel it through the attention to detail, which makes the game more interesting.
Red Dead Redemption II is an astonishing game with life-like mechanics, an amazing storyline, and stunning graphics, that show developers’ intense attention to detail. I wholeheartedly recommend this game to any video game enthusiasts with the warning that you may not be able to peel yourself away for hours!
