It’s Saturday night.   You want to go out to dinner.  And, it just so happens you live on Long Island’s North Shore. There are so many different choices that it can be hard to decide where to dine. That’s where I come in - to help you select the perfect restaurant.

1. 2 Spring--located at 2 Spring Street, Oyster Bay, NY
This restaurant is different from many others. It has a second level that offers a nice view of the town.  The atmosphere inside is cozy and welcoming. The menu contains a wide selection from duck breast to sea scallops. A big advantage to this restaurant is that the menu contains both small and large plates - that way everyone can eat the portion size that they want. Their dessert menu is like nothing you have ever seen before. For example, you will find something as simple as s’mores alongside chocolate olive oil cake. Just be sure you bring your wallet!

2. Sandbar--located at 55 Main Street, Cold Spring Harbor, NY
This restaurant appeals to the senses. It has a coastal look and feel to it - it’s not a surprise that their menu has great seafood like mussels, charred octopus and grilled swordfish. They also offer special menus for holidays.  Newsday named Sandbar one of the ten best restaurants on Long Island in 2018.
3. Peter Luger--located at 255 Northern Boulevard, Great Neck, NY
This well-known restaurant first opened its doors in 1887. The fact that this restaurant has been around for so long proves how good it is. If you like good steak, this is the place to go! They have dry-aged strip steaks, porterhouse and rib steak to name a few. Most impressive is the fact that this restaurant has been rated the top steakhouse in New York since 1984.

4. Kotobuki--located at 1530 Old Northern Boulevard, Roslyn, NY
This restaurant serves both traditional and contemporary Japanese food. Their extensive menu has a variety of combinations including 21 types of sushi/sashimi. One of their more unusual and delicious items is their spicy tuna pizza. If you like sushi, this is the place to go.

5. Besito--located at 1516 Old Northern Boulevard, Roslyn, NY
Located in the same shopping center as Kotobuki, Besito offers local and fresh ingredients for their menu, which also contains a great variety of specialties, including two types of skirt steak, filet mignon, and New York strip steak. They even have jumbo crab and shrimp.
